John Paris, the drummer for Earth, Wind & Fire, and Eddie Mininfield, a versatile saxophonist who toured with Prince and has worked with artists such as Stevie Nicks, Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, have been integral to the sounds of some of the most iconic artists of our time. Back 2 Basics (B2B) is a dynamic musical duo formed by longtime collaborators Eddie Mininfield and John Paris, two world-class musicians whose individual careers have been nothing short of legendary. Known for their mastery of R&B, funk, soul, smooth jazz and pop, B2B combines deep-rooted musicianship with a contemporary sound that resonates with listeners across generations.

The journey of Back 2 Basics began in the San Francisco Bay Area, where Eddie and John first met as teenagers. At just 15 years old, they started playing together in Top 40 bands, forging a lifelong friendship and musical chemistry that would later define their careers. Beyond his work as a collaborator, Eddie has earned acclaim as a solo artist, releasing albums that showcase his signature blend of sophistication and soul.
